Research

The Department of Neurology has had a more than 55 year tradition of conducting state of the art research. Our faculty are engaged in a wide variety of clinical and basic research to understand, prevent and treat neurological disorders. Strong federally funded basic science research programs focus on the pathological mechanisms of neurological disease. The department was ranked 22 in NIH funding in 2017. Our clinical translational research supports new therapeutic approaches.
