World Sleep Congress 2017, October 7-11, Prague, Czech Republic

Douglas M. Wallace participated in the symposium Insomnia phenotypes: identification and treatment response. Dr Wallace’s spoke about the “Predictors of Insomnia Severity Index Profiles Among Veterans with Obstructive Sleep.” The symposium showed the use of different methods to identify insomnia phenotypes/subtypes across patients with primary insomnia and different sleep and medical disorders. Faculty included Dr. William Wohlgemuth (Chair), Dr. Sanchez Ortuno from Spain and Dr. Edinger (United States).

Dr. Carlos Torre was the Chair of the symposium titled Nasal obstruction and its role in sleep disordered breathing were the results of the Distraction Osteogenesis Maxillary Expansion (DOME) for adults with sleep apnea were presented and reviewed. Participating faculty included Drs. Quo, D. Yoon and Liu from the United States. Dr. Carlos Torre also provided a lecture titled The Nose and SDB [sleep disordered breathing], at the symposium Modifying the upper airway for sleep apnea management Chaired by Dr. Guilleminault.

Dr. Alberto Ramos provided a platform/oral presentation titled Actigraphic Sleep Patterns and Hypertension in the Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos, session O17-Sleep health and other issues oral abstract presentations. Dr. Ramos also had a poster presentation titled Cerebral Hemodynamics in Sleep Apnea and Actigraphy-Determined Sleep Duration in a Sample of the Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos
