Neurocritical Care Faculty

  • Kristine O’Phelan, M.D.: Dr. O’Phelan is an Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology. She is also Chief of the Neurocritical Care Division. Her major subspecialty interests are critical care of neurotrauma, multimodal monitoring, subarachnoid hemorrhage and other neurosurgical illnesses. Her primary research interest is neurotrauma.
  • Maranatha Ayodele, M.D.: Dr. Maranatha Ayodele is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology and Associate Director of the University of Miami’s Neurocritical Care Fellowship Program. She received her medical degree from the Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University. She completed her residency in general neurology at the University of California, San Francisco and additional subspecialty fellowship training in Neurotrauma and Neurocritical Care at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Ayodele joined the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in August 2015. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties. Her clinical and research interests are in the critical care management of traumatic brain injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and severe stroke patients.
  • Amedeo Merenda, M.D.: Dr. Merenda is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery. Dr. Merenda’s special clinical and research interests include traumatic brain injury (TBI), acute cerebrovascular disease and the application of neuromonitoring techniques in patients with acute brain injury, such as cerebral microdialysis and brain oxygen tension monitoring.
  • Mohan Kottapally, M.D.: Dr. Kottapally is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology and Associate Program Director of the Neurology Residency Program
