Moving Day 2015
The University of Miami, Department of Neurology, Parkinson’s disease and Movement Disorders Center organized for a fourth year “Team UM” for Moving Day. Team UM was spearheaded by Dr. Carlos Singer and his wife Bonnie, Dr. Angela Russell and Team Captain, George Dumenigo, LCSW.
Moving Day® is the National Parkinson Foundation’s annual fundraising walk event. It is a day of joining together and raising awareness of Parkinson’s disease. The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) continues to bring help and hope to the estimated one million people in the United States, Four to Six Million worldwide, who are living with Parkinson’s disease. NPF is the only organization with a singular focus on improving the quality of care in Parkinson’s disease. The NPF network programs consists of 39 Chapters, 43 Centers of Excellence, which our center has been designated as, and 900 support groups worldwide.
This year’s event, on November 15th, 2015, saw more than 1,500 participants, which included people with Parkinson’s, families, friends, healthcare professionals, corporate leaders and corporate teams, joined together to raise funds in support of the Foundation’s mission.
